It means that we have a fear of becoming to powerful to handle our selves. a fear that is of harming people close to us. like our family and friends. this "power" I believe is the sense of power over people.
ReplyDeleteNot quite physical power but power over mind. Power is often what leads people into darkness. Power is good but in limits, if one has to much power then they become power driven and want more power till they believe they are on top of every thing. This is truly one of the biggest flaws of humanity, their want for power.
People often think what they are doing is right, and that will lead them away from what really is right. If there was no such thing as power then there would be no reason for war, no cause for strife. If you wish to see a good example of this, just look around you.
It's not the fact that we may not be perfect, but even though we aren't we are still very great in what we are. We are one of the biggest measure of life nothing else is more knowlodgeable or understanding as we are. Its as if nothing else compares to us because we are the greater kind.That nothing can end up getting rid of.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that some people are so scared to be who they really are because they don't want any one else to make fun of them or pick on them for it. There for we might hide in the dark instead of shining like we really want to. We are hiddin in the dark therefore never showing the real us. This is why most are not giving enough credit for what they really are, but instead givin for who they appear to be.
we have all the power that we have but we do not know how to use it. lots of power could cause someone to become to dependent on the power that they have. Some people dont no how to use that power so the are scared of it. It makes them fear power.
ReplyDeleteThe things that we fear are light up in our eyes. The things that we are not scared of stay in the dark because we dont fear them so we dont worry about them. the fear we have is in the light because we dont know how to shut it out of over come that fear we have. many people will not get the fear to go away with out trying to take the light off of it and puting it in the dark to not worry about.
It means to me that soon one day we will make a mistake and robots will take over the world. That the light is the destruction they will make. And the darkness is the place where we will hide. Then when its all over we can come out and see the terrible thing we have done, or what they have done.But we still created them.
ReplyDeleteOr it may just mean that we are scared of being scared or I don't know. Didn't John F. Kennedy say something like that. I think he said "The only thing we have to fear is. Fear itself." I think.
It means that most people have the potential to follow their dreams it's just that they are scared of what other people will think of them. It also means that no dream is not unfillable. You can do anything you can put your mind to. There is no fear in the world that can keep you from fulfilling your dreams.
ReplyDeleteI once heard that if your climb a mountain why not climb a 10,000 foot mountain than a 1,000 foot moutain because if you fall you are still dead. It would be shocking how many people that have the potential to fulfill a dream, but dont because they are too scared of what other people will think or how hard it will be. Well, if it's your dream you should not let anybody get in the way of it and if you want it that bad you shouldn't let anybody get in the way. So go out there and fulfill your dreams and dont let nobody tell you anything different.
This paragraph means like someone who wants to do something so bad, but they just can't get the urge to do it because of the consiquences they will have to pay, and how much trouble they will be in.
ReplyDeleteIt also means that if your friends are doing something they shouldn't be doing, but they keep asking you to try it with them but deep down you have a fear telling you not to but you do it anyways just to fit in with them to stay there friend or so they don't go around telling everyone your a chicken and that your scared to try stuff.
we all have power in some way but either we dont know how to use it or we are scared to. power can make people become scared, or asamed in some way. when people know that they have power they either try and take advantage or run a way from it. u can tell when fear is in someone by the expression on there face in the light, things were not scared or are in the dark because the fear is over riding our other thought or fealings. its hard to get ur fear to go away. u have to up and try it to make u feel better. if someone can see fear in another person then i think that peron should help them get over what ever they are scared of.
ReplyDeleteThis is a pretty confusing sentence. What this says to me is that we have our fears and foes, who we like and dislike. But when it comes down to it, its the things we know and hold most that can frighten us rather than just something scary.
ReplyDeleteYours fears are given by something that has happened to you or what someone has done to you. You can be scared of snakes or sharks but your real fear is when something happens to you that you can see. But when you are put to your strengths mentally or physically, it is a fear in the light because you can see it and you dont know how to deal with it.

I guess that means that we are sometimes afraid of what happens in the light, so we go into the darkness and try to hide from it. What we really need to do is just face the problem the best that we can.
ReplyDeleteWe think that we don't have anyone to go to, but everyone has someone, whether it would be a teacher, grandparent, parent, sister, brother, or just a friend. Not everything that happens in the light is bad so, just go on with life.
I think it means that we fear our life more than we fear our death. Many peoplemany people fear their power which can leed to many deaths. But if we canput away our fear not of being inadequate but being powerful I belive we could have a better life.

ReplyDeletePeople arent always scared of what they cant do, but alot of us are afraid to use what we can do.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate." I think this statement means that people aren't always scared of what they can't do, but what they can do. I also think that what the second sentence means that if we have a lot of power we might be scared that we will not know how we use it. I'm not sure if it's right but that's my opinion.

my deepest fear has to be snakes i just do not like them, come to think of it i dont like reptiles at all there just little thigs that i think should not even exist any more.

The quote "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure," to me means that we are not scared of being unpowerful, just scared of what our power can do. For example, the power of what words can say. You could say something so simple but hurt so many people along the way, thinking that you caused no harm, but unknowingly your wrong. You may think your inadequate but in reality you are so powerful that it could get out of hand.

Suppose you get great success in the movie business, it may turn you into a person all about money and fame, where before you were just about doing what you love. People fear there light because there scared of what they may turn into, or say wrong. While in the darnkness they seemed happy and unknowing, not causing problems. Now i could be completely wrong about what these two quotes mean, but this is what i think in my opinion.
In my own opinion this quote is saying how we each have our own great talents, but we are scared to show them to the world. We know they are worth the while, but are scared people will not think so. This quote is trying to tell us that we have to take chances and show our true selves. God have us these talents intending for us to use them, but instead we are so caught up in what people think that we won't. Break out of your shell and show the world your true talent. Even if it is unique and different the people who mind don't matter; the people who matter don't mind. Go world, show your talent and have fun doing it!(:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure." This sentence reminds me of a student coming to a new school where they know nobody. They fear that what they have to give every body will not be enough to meet their standards, so they keep to themselves and try to hide from everybody. They don't think that if they get out there and show themselves that they will overcome the humiliation of being a new student. They don't think that they will have very many friends or anything, but in reality, this could really happen.

Being in solitude makes them feel as if they are in control of everything, but if they came out and was motivated to do what they do best they could really open some doors to other people and be a great example to others. It's kind of like a brand new artist. They have spent most of their lives singing in the shower with a hair brush as a microphone. Then they eventually branch out and sing in front of their friends. Their friends are really impressed with their ability to sing so they mention them to a small manager. They start singing in small businesses and eventually become huge stars! If they hadn't have started singing in front of others they wouldn't have gotten where they are now.

This speech to me means alot of things. Like the reader is trying to tell people that what we say are fears realy aren't. To me he is tryimg to say that we are to powerful for our own good. We think to highly of ourselves.

I think this quote stands for everyone. It means people are scared of what other people will think of them about there power. Or people are scared to let everyone see there talent or power. A lot of people don't like to be noticed so the keep these things within themselves.

Or that they feel they will fail at there power. An some I think can not give enough to reach a level expectation. An for some reason i think of Super Hero's when i think about this topic.
This is what i think the quote means.That some people are afraid to show their talents in front on people. When we are good at something its hard to show it. People sometimes try to show it but other people are like it is not that hard to do that. So when we are good at something else then we dont want to tell anybody.

fear is not a big thing in life but we ake like is a big thing in life. People have such great futures in certin areas but still they question if they are doing the right thing.So to me i think if your happy and having fun every thing is going to be great you may have some hard times but you got to keep going. So I think if you have a great oppertunity to do somrthing go and get it.
Many people face different fears in their everyday life. I believe that the quote means that people are timid to do what they can do, because they don't know where it will take them. The first sentence clearly states that our fear is not because we don't think we can do it. It is that we can do more than people think we are capable of doing. So when people see what we can do is more than they thought, they drive us more to use that to get even better.
ReplyDeleteThese days, people are too lazy or don't have the "want to" to do anything they know they can easily do. They have given up their talents and dreams so they don't have to work at it to get better. When it says "It is our light not our darkness that frightens us," I think that means people notice your success, and want you to get better. The next part is where our fear comes in; you don't want to give it your all and not get better. It feels like you let yourself, and whoever is helping you down.
This means that if we have a problem then we should talk to someone about it. If you don't talk to somneone then you can become emotionally deppressed. You don't want to be depressed because it can lead to death. If you die then the people that care bout you will be very devestated and crushed so wrok put your problems.
ReplyDeleteYou can also become a social intellectual with lack of physical abillities. We need to be more careful with what we do and try not to have that many problems. If someone is trying to hurt you instead of taking matters into your own hand you should call the cops. The cops can help you with any situation that you may have no matter what it is it could be that you killed someone it is better to tell them.
What it ment to me is that we dont know our true potential. That we are stronger than what we are seen to be.Some people are scared of their light because it gives them hope and just say they are scared of the darkness because it leaves them with no expectations for themselves. People cover up to hide the fact that their scared of something that is good for them, because when it is lost its unbearable. People choose to do things to the fullest to get strong. Most dont do as good as they could so others wont bother them about getting better or critized about how bad they are when they are doing it as best as they can. When people are scared of things they tend to avoid it or try to get over it, if you avoid the fear it stays the same or could get worse, if you get over it then there will prolly be another fear right after that one. So people avoid them to stay safe or not freaked out, but when your scared of your strength then you need to over come it by getting it incontrol and never be scared of the dark, because your never alone.No one is ever in the dark as long as they have someone with them.
